The BREATHE study (Bristol evaluation of novel airways diagnostics, therapies and healthcare outcomes) aims to improve the health and outcomes of patients with airways disease, through better understanding of its underlying causes and the effects of treatments.
By looking at the genetic traits of each of our patients we can better understand the underlying disease processes. This will allow us to tailor potential treatment options and better manage their disease.
The BREATHE study is being run at the North Bristol NHS Trust Complex Airways Service. This service leads the way in novel diagnostics and systematic multidimensional assessment of patients presenting with severe asthma and COPD.
