Laura Howe is a Professor of Epidemiology & Medical Statistics at Bristol Medical School. Prof Howe’s team researches social influences on health, and in particular the links between childhood adversity and mental health.
Their research draws on life course and causal inference approaches to understand the pathways through which social factors influence health, and therefore which interventions might reduce health inequalities.
Within the BRC, she leads a project funded by Wellcome, which brings together colleagues from the UK and Brazil to understand the causal pathways linking childhood adversity to anxiety-related disorders.
