Giovanni Biglino is a biomedical engineer with an interest in a multidisciplinary approach to health.
Giovanni’s current research is very collaborative, involving cardiologists, surgeons, imagers, psychologists, artists and patients.
He researches 3D technologies including their role in communicative dynamics. He works on deriving biomarkers of cardiac function from imaging data and does cross-sector work on the use of models to express and honour patients’ stories.
He is exploring how to combine technologies and creative practices to represent health and disease in new ways and spark new conversations.
He is currently the equality diversity and inclusion co-lead for the Bristol Medical School, a member of the Gender Inclusion Group at the University of Bristol and an international advisor to the Youth Equity Science project at Yale. He is also a board member of the Centre for Health Humanities and Science at the University of Bristol.
