Bodies: 2 is a day of international best-selling authors – with a medical twist!

Come and hear Joanna Cannon, Rachel Clarke, Nathan Filer, Kat Lyons, Henry Marsh, Matt Morgan and Anthony Warner (The Angry Chef)!

Plus poetry from Kat Lyons, Bristol City Poet; exhibitions; and great food from Farro and Little Bagel.

The day runs from 10am until 5:15pm.

Programme

Joanna Cannon will be in conversation on dementia.

Nathan Filer will discuss mental health.

Matt Morgan will be talking about how understanding animals may save human lives.

Anthony Warner, The Angry Chef, will talk about ways to feed ourselves well without harming the world.

Benji Waterhouse will reflect on a psychiatrist’s life.

After a short break (Browns restaurant is next door), from 6:30pm

Rachel Clarke will talk about The Story of a Heart

and Henry Marsh will ask why hospitals are so horrible.

 

There will also be exhibits from local artists, and showcases of some current medical humanities projects, such as Flourishing Spaces and the Good Grief Festival.

Books will be available for purchase by courtesy of Peoples Republic of Stokes Croft.

It’s a day for the general public, health professionals and all of us who have been, or will be, patients.
